“We’ve never been over. You know it as well as I do…”Okay WOW!! This book is absolutely jam-packed with sexual tension. And I absolutely loved it!!! Very much deserving of a 5 star rating. It’s one of those ‘I-hate-you-but-I-love-you’ type of love stories told in the best way possible. The author has a wonderful way with words as she mixes the perfect amount of tension, humour, love, amazing chemistry and just puts it all together to create a recipe for my first top read for 2015. A wonderful second-chance romance with a moody, broody, ‘I-just-want-to-jump-through-my-kindle-and-hit-the-hero-over-the-head’ male character and a female lead that I fell in love with.
The story follows Cassie, a stage actress who is cast in the Broadway remake of Romeo and Juliet and is casted along side Ethan Holt, the man she has always been in love with, who broke her heart into smithereens. After six years apart, Cassie can’t forget about their painful past, but their chemistry is so intense that all her feelings come flooding back with a simple glance. Ethan knows how badly he hurt her, but uses this second chance to try and win her over, proving once and for all that he has in fact, changed.
“Cassie, I felt like a ghost while I was away from you. I was. Now, I want to feel real again.”
The story switches from past to present, filling us in on small parts of their lives at two different times. It’s written in a way that when we are in the past, we get a glimpse of Cassie trying to convince Ethan why they should be together and Ethan doing all he can to keep her at arms length, knowing that if things got closer to that relationship ‘line’, it will all fall apart. When we go back to the present, it’s the opposite. Ethan is the one who is trying to win Cassie over, and Cassie does her best to protect her heart that he once shattered. <– I really loved that about this book!
“…but the only consistent thing about him is his unpredictability.”
There was so much I loved about this book. Every word said between both characters was felt in my soul. Their connection was beyond anything I have felt in a story for a really long time and I just took in everything I could. The banter between the characters was awesome. They really knew how to get under each others skin. I need to point out something really important for you guys, this book ends in a ‘kind-of’ cliffhanger. I personally hate cliffhangers so I was a little hesitant to start this book, knowing that book #2 was still a little while away, but I can honestly say that the way the book ended – for me – has left me more excited than depressed. It leaves you in a good place of wanting more, excited to see where their relationship will go to next. There are so many unanswered questions in book #1 but I can honestly tell you that you will feel satisfied regardless. Leisa Rayven is an incredibly talented author and you just feel that she knows what she’s doing. And I cannot wait to get my hands on Broken Juliet (which you can pre-order here). Ethan and Cassie’s story will conclude in book #2, but there will be another book in the Starcrossed series that will be about Ethan’s sister, who you meet in Bad Romeo.
Seriously, this book is incredible. I recommend it to everyone and I know we are only a few weeks into 2015, but I can see this series being one of my favourites of the year. 5++ stars!!!

Bad Romeo The Starcrossed Series Book 1 edition by Leisa Rayven Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
What can I say about Bad Romeo... Well, for one, its one of the best "suck you right in" books I've ever read. Leisa Rayven's writing style combines all the sexual tension, all the angst, all the smexy, and all the feels in this first novel. You know those books that are few and far between - the one's that you're reading, probably at 200 am because you couldn't put it down, and you get those small achy pains in your chest? Yeah - this book has those. Leisa's ability to suck you right in to the lives of Ethan and Cassie, and make you feel what they are feeling, is the hallmark of a true storyteller. I cannot WAIT until Broken Juliet is published, and we see just where these are headed!
I went with the reviews from some of my favorite author's Christina Lauren and Jennifer Probst and ordered this book, it's a few years old but I love Christina Lauren 's reads and they gave it their thumbs up so I went and downloaded it feeling hopefully it was going to be a really excellent read, it wasn't. The author has writing skills no doubt but the storyline was not endearing at all.Its very YA actually more than NA , I'm not a fan of YA and here is why.The book starts out with promise, you meet the two main characters at tryouts to get into the top drama college in the country ,ok that was going well ,then it starts with the YA drama, girl wants boy,boy was burned in the past by girlfriend in high school and is now jaded ( ok stop right there, who wasn't burned by a girlfriend or boyfriend in high school, it's part of everyone's lives), yet it becomes Ethan 's excuse for everything throughout this entire read. There is the drunk parties, getting high and getting the munchies scenes, she chases him ,he runs from her,he doesn't want anyone else to have her,but he doesn't want to want her....God it got so boring and cliche it was annoying. Then you get the present time of this couple and it just gets worse, fast forward 6years ,you know Ethan lied to her and hurt her terribly but you don't find out actually until maybe the final page in this book,to be continued, very childish cliffhanger and again very YA.So between flipping from present to past you basically have Ethan in the past running from Cassie and then you have the present time, (there in their mid 20 's ) with Cassie running from a chasing Ethan. It's just getting so ridiculous and mundane that I just can't keep going on with this read, so I'm cutting my loses and stopping after Bad Romeo.Christina Lauren did you honestly love this read ????.I honestly think the author has good writing skills but she really needs to work on her storyline, the writing part again is good, it was what she was telling and how she was telling this story that just got too annoying to continue.
